HERMAN ROBINSON CARSON, DD
made many trips to ancestral residences, scanned ancient tombstones and had countless conversations with living descendants of Thomas Dickerman.  Also, used information in "Families of Dickerman Ancestry"
published in 1897 (author George Sherwood Dickerman) to compile
Dickerman family history.  He is responsible for some of the information
on the Zinks and Dickermans on this web site.
Herman Carson was also responsible for erecting the memorial to
our ancestor, John Zink, at the Masood Funeral Home in  Bedford, Saxton County, Pennsylvania where John Zink served in the Revolutionary War and is buried.  Click HERE to see memorial.
Herman Carson organized family reunions in the 1950's and sent out an ongoing newsletter known as "Jauntings and Jottings" to family members.

He was the National Chaplain General of the Sons of the American
Revolution.  He is pictured above with possibly one of his sons.
He died in May, 1967 shortly after the picture was taken and the memorial to John Zink was dedicated.
