From the Carrollton Patriot Mrach 6, 1942 Solomon D. Waltrip, 68, a lifelong resident of Wrights and a former blacksmith there died at 10:45 o'clock Sunday night after several years illness. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist church of Wrights where the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. The service was conducted by Rev. F. L. Crouch of Carlinville and Rev. Herinan Rhodes of Plainview. Burial was in Hickory Grove cemetery. Mr. Waltrip is survived by his wife, Anna Stinnett Waltrip; two daughters, Mrs. Lynn Waltrip of Wrights, Mrs. William Atkin of Godfrey and one son, Amos L. Waltrip of Princeton. He leaves also two sisters, Mrs. John Alchin of Taylorville and N4rs. William Wright of Wrights.
